Havregrød/Oat Porridge




Due to the weather-situation this summer and the fact that I have caught a permanent cold I think it is time for the best hot breakfast I know: Havregrød! I guess there must be some wild old stories about how havregrød was granted the humans by the gods as some reward or maybe some pay-off- maybe someone saw something he shouldn't have seen... (if not there should be).



Put



  • 1-2 dl rolled oats
in a pot. Then add




  • water (such that the oats are covered -and a little more)
Heat and stir until the texture you prefer is obtained.



You can put fruit in the porridge before or after you heat(personaly I like apples) and you can eat it with yoghurt. I think the traditional recipes dictate that you pour milk on the oat porridge but I've never grown acustumed to that.
