Limoncello

Here goes: My limoncello recipe.

You will need

  • 6 lemons (preferible organic grown as the lemon peel is to be used)

  • 1 botle of vodka (made on grain)

  • sugar

  • water

  • a jar that can hold app. 2 L.

Start by washing the lemons and then zest the lemons with a potatopeeler. Try not to get any white stuf with the peel as it will make the lemoncello bitter.

Put the peels in the jar with the vodka.

Leave it for a week or two. Or until the peels have lost most of their colour. Remove the peels from the jar. Now you have to make a sugar-syrup. This is done by boiling 500 g sugar and 1L of water in a pan (don't stir!) for some time till the sugar is dissolved and the syrup has thickened (ca. 15 min.). Let the syrup cool then add it to the vodka.

Leave the jar in a (dark) place for some weeks.

Drink and enjoy.
